Nail Polish Tips & Tricks for the Perfect DIY Manicure

We are always looking for new and cute nail designs and giving ourselves manicures at home.  These are some tips and tricks that have helped us. You'll never do your nails the same again!!

Use ice water to dry your nails in 3 min! Let them air dry first for a few minutes and then dip them in the water for three and voila! Dry nails without the wait!

Instead of using tape to aid in clean up of messy nail designs (like water marbling), or even for getting a more perfect manicure, use Elmer's glue.  Apply it around your cuticles, where you don't want nail polish. Let it dry and go crazy with nail polish.  It doesn't matter how much paint gets on your cuticles and around your nail because after you're done painting you just peel off the glue and are left with a really clean manicure!!

This is a great way to get clean, geometric designs on your nails.  Just use scotch tape, cut out the designs you want and place them on your nails.  Then paint over them, let the paint dry, and peel off the tape.

Get white nails! How to remove old nail polish stains off your nails: make a paste using 1 tbsp peroxide and 2 1/4 tbsp baking soda. Let this paste sit on your nails for 5 minutes and voila! White nails!
